Electro UK recently completed a large project in Leicestershire on behalf of Avison Young for Blacks’ new distribution depot. The project included electrical installations, intruder alarms, fire alarms, CCTV and building management systems.

Electronic Security & Safety Systems
Over 25 miles of cabling was installed along with thousands of metres of conduits, trunking, and tray to support and contain the cabling systems installed. Mains distribution was installed to handle the large loads of over 1000 amps, with dual feeds from the main incoming high voltage transformers on site. The warehouses were split into individually served power zones to cater for the long cable runs and to ensure the power was distributed adequately.
To reduce overall running costs, all the electrical systems were linked directly into a BMS (Building Management System) to control centrally all heating, lighting, power, intruder alarms, fire alarms, access control systems, automatic barriers, cctv and other security systems. With on site security personnel being directly connected to the main control centre, staff are immediately summoned to an incident.
